Songbird Art Contest

Entry Deadline • November 30th, 2025

In partnership with Wildlife Forever, the South Carolina Wildlife Federation proudly presents the South Carolina Songbird Art Contest. This contest invites K–12 students to explore our native birds through art and creative writing. This fun competition celebrates our feathered friends while encouraging young artists to learn about their habitats and conservation.

Judging: There will be first, second, and third place awards given to each of the grade ranges listed below.

Grades K–3

  • 1st Place: Youth Binoculars · Ranger Rick subscription · Prismacolor Art Supplies

Grades 4–6

Eligibility:

  • Review the 2025 Rules & Guidelines.
  • This entry form is for participants that reside in South Carolina.
  • The Songbird Art Contest is free and open to all persons in grades K-12 (aged 5-18 years old).
  • Each entry must include both an original artwork and a creative writing piece (writing is optional for students in grades K–3).
  • All South Carolina entries must submit their artwork and creative writing to this online entry form.
  • Entries must abide by the guidelines and be submitted by November 30th, 2025.

2025 South Carolina Eligible Species:

  • Black-and-white Warbler
  • Carolina Wren
  • Painted Bunting
  • Purple Finch
  • White-breasted Nuthatch
