Birding the Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica
SCWF is making preliminary plans to take groups of birders to Costa Rica for birding adventures with Palmetto Pro Birder instructor Drew Lanham. Drew will be making a "scouting trip" in February 2017.
Future trips to Costa Rica with Drew will be scheduled in February each year. These trips will be scheduled to take place after the rainy season, but before the trees become so lush & green as to obstruct your view of the birds.
We are excited to be partnering with Scott Steedley, Founder and President of the International Center for Sustainability, to offer these trips. Scott owns property in Costa Rica and has traveled extensively in the area for several years. Scott's 140 acre property is nestled between two major rivers and looks out over Cabo Blanco - Costa Rica's first National Park. Our group will be birding on this property, as well as parks and preserves across the peninsula.
Lodging will be provided at the Jodokus Inn in Montezuma. Check this link for more information about the Jodokus Inn, and more photos of this beautiful property (in addition to two photos below).
