Conserve

As South Carolina’s first conservation group, established in 1931, we’ve been safeguarding our state’s wildlife for nearly a century. We rely on proven scientific methods to protect and preserve the health of our delicate ecosystems, ensuring that wildlife across the state thrive for generations to come.

Advocate

We work tirelessly with state legislators and policymakers to defend vital wildlife habitats and ensure that decisions impacting our natural resources are grounded in solid scientific data. The more informed our policymakers are, the stronger they can advocate for South Carolina’s precious wildlife.

Restore

As our population grows and cities expand, our natural landscapes face increasing threats. We’re dedicated to reversing these impacts by actively restoring vital habitats through hands-on initiatives and educational programs that rejuvenate our lands and waterways.

Educate

We are one of the few conservation organizations in South Carolina offering ongoing educational programs that empower residents to protect our natural habitats. Our mission is to inspire hope, ignite passion, and cultivate a deep-seated commitment to conservation in every South Carolinian.

Join our mailing list to stay up-to-date on events, volunteer opportunities, action alerts, and other SCWF news.

Plant Native Plants

Plants which naturally occur in an area provide the best habitat for wildlife, and are more drought-tolerant and pest-resistant.

Volunteers

Your help is needed in many different ways to conserve and restore habitat for wildlife across the state.

Certify a Habitat

Gardens or natural areas, of any size, can provide valuable habitat for wildlife by including food, water, cover & places to raise young.

Put Up a Nesting Box

You can easily provide critical habitat in your community for cavity-nesting birds whose populations are in decline.
