South Carolina Wildlife Federation

The SCWF Junior Naturalist Program teaches children about nature and the importance of conservation. Through fun, hands-on learning, children begin to appreciate nature, understand basic ecological concepts, become aware of their impact on the environment, and take action in their community.  Junior Naturalist events are taught by members of the Midlands Master Naturalist Association. Topics and activities vary depending on the season.

New Year's Hike

Saturday, December 31, 2016
10:00am until 12:00noon

Camp Discovery in Blythewood

This easy hike through meadow and woodland habitats will be led by members of the Midlands Master Naturalist Association. Kids will have the opportunity to make their own bag of trail mix to bring along on the hike, and we'll all warm up afterwards with hot cocoa!

The event will begin at 10:00 am, and we should be finished up by noon. Kids of all ages are welcomed!  A donation of $10 per family is suggested, and can be paid at the time of the hike (cash or check made out to SCWF).

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress warmly!! Wear closed-toed, closed-heeled shoes, and bring water along.
