When: Thursday, May 5th, 1:00 – 5:00 pm

Where: SC Forestry Commission Headquarters
 5500 Broad River Road, Columbia, SC

This free workshop is aimed at the staff and board members of land trusts, as well as landowners around the state.  The panelists will discuss:

- Biomass Energy, Potential for landowners in South Carolina,  Environmental issues, and success stories from other states

- Long Leaf Pine Restoration, potential, challenges, and advantages, with special emphasis on the new LLP restoration effort of the National Wildlife Federation

- Mitigating impacts to natural resources in a changing environment

- Federal Climate/Energy Policy, what is happening in Washington that may affect new energy markets and the role of our congressional delegation. 

This is going to be an interactive meeting with lots of time for questions and discussion of these important issues.
