The ITRC site received certification on April 20, 2009.  The area contains a number of native, drought resistant plants.  This area also has a rock patio area, bird feeders and educational signage for the associates working at the ITRC.

Ongoing initiatives include:

• Upkeep of the area.  Felicity Henderson, who maintains the Spartanburg site, also maintains the ITRC.  Volunteers refill the bird feeders.
• Education.  The ITRC cite has several education signage platforms located on the patio areas of the facility.  These signs can be updated with new information.  Our efforts will be to inform associates at the ITRC about the woodland area plants and wildlife. 
• Expansion and further projects.  There is currently a stream restoration project underway in the area which affects the ITRC WAIT site.  Other future projects will be determined after completion of the stream restoration.
