Starting with basic elements of gardening and sustainability to plant selection and combinations, join us to learn about what you should be doing to ensure the habitat health of your landscape! Eric Shealy, Landscape Consultant and Plant Production Supervisor at Riverbanks Zoo and Garden will join us for a virtual chat on habitat gardening. In this session, explore a whole year of seasons in the garden, and how it’s possible to transform those ‘Landscaper Lots’ into an oasis for you and your wildlife friends.
About Eric Shealy:
Eric is a professional horticulturist who grew up on a Saluda County, SC dairy farm turned beef cattle farm surrounded by mature woods, animals and a family who loved to work the land. During his time at Clemson University, he developed a passion for native plants through an internship with Highlands Biological Station in Highlands, NC. After graduating this passion has continued to grow in his current position as Riverbanks Zoo and Garden’s Plant Production Supervisor. He is an avid home gardener as well as a landscape consultation specialist, providing homeowners a tailored experience to help them realize their gardening goals.
