Green: LWCF funding makes economic sense

Green: LWCF funding makes economic sense

As temperatures begin to cool this fall, millions of South Carolinians are heading outdoors to enjoy hiking, hunting, camping, sporting events and many more activities that we have all come to enjoy. Much of this recreation takes place on public land — from city parks to national forests — and many of these places could not have been built or preserved without funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF).

Conservation Bank Renewal Passes Overwhelmingly

Conservation Bank Renewal Passes Overwhelmingly

With the passage of a Conservation Bank re-authorization bill in the SC House of Representatives, we are a big step closer to extending the life of this state agency that has been the single most important factor in the preservation and conservation of some of our most precious natural resources. We are grateful for the overwhelming vote in the House today and especially for the leadership of Rep. Brian White and others who championed the Conservation Bank.
