POWR+: Women's Quail Hunt

Class is full. You can add yourself to the waiting list through the form below.

Due to the demand for our Palmetto Outdoors Women Retreat, we are adding (+) new one-day workshops across the state. POWR+ events are open to all women whether you have attended the retreat or have yet to do so.

Join the POWR+ team for a fun adventure on an upland bird hunt for quail. Hunter and Hope Morton from All In Kennels and their friends will be leading this adventure in quail hunting. There will be an introduction to quail, a detailed safety talk, and then groups of 2-3 POWR+ participants will go off to hunt with one of the seasoned instructors.

Following the hunt, you will learn how to clean your harvest and will get to taste a wild game dish! Groups will be hunting quail with trained bird dogs. We encourage you to bring your own gear, but we do have gear available upon request. Once registered, you will receive a detailed list of suggested clothing and equipment. Cost for registration is $100.

This is a wonderful “first time” experience for new hunters but also loads of fun for seasoned hunters. It is a great way to connect with other women who are interested in shooting sports and sourcing their own food.

Bring your lunch and a water bottle but there will be opportunities to taste wild game.

Location: This event will be held in in McCormick, SC. After registration, you will receive an email with more details.

Cost: The cost is $100 per participant and limited to the first 9 women that register.

SCWF reserves the right to cancel any event, due to unforeseen circumstances, extreme weather, low registration, or guidance from local/state officials. Any cancellation by SCWF will result in a full refund for all registrants.

Please note that you must have a current hunting license to participate in this event. If you do not have one, you can purchase one through the SC Department of Natural Resources here.
